Remote Management

Why Remote Management?

  • Free your employees from spending time (and money) resolving computer problems and monitoring network functions like tape backups.
  • Resolve problems before they occur by having trained networking professionals monitor and troubleshoot your network.
  • Minimize the risk of making problems worse by improper troubleshooting.
  • Problems may be resolved faster by trained networking professionals.
  • Less need for expensive “on-site” service work.
  • Less overall down time for employees from a smoother running network.

What is included?

We will perform all “routine” monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting for all of your computers and servers.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot tape backups.
  • Identify and fix problems before they occur by monitoring server Event Logs, hard drive space and memory usage.
  • Add, remove or modify users and security permissions as needed.
  • Modify or troubleshoot server configuration.
  • Manage virus definition updates
  • Configure, modify or troubleshoot computer settings (Network, Internet, Email, Printers, Icons, etc.).

How Does It Work?

We will install monitoring software on your server that automatically notifies us when errors occur.   We will then connect to your servers to identify and resolve the problem.  When a problem or error occurs on your PC, just call us and we will connect to the affected computer and troubleshoot the problem.

What is not included?

Some things (like hardware installation, hardware errors, and cabling issues) simply cannot be resolved remotely.  Other things (like complex or large software installations, or involved software troubleshooting) may be accomplished remotely but involve significantly more time and effort to resolve.  These types of services are not “routine” and would be billed for at our standard rate.

Requirements

A dedicated, high speed Internet connection (ISDN, DSL, T1, etc.) is required.  We must also be able to connect through any firewalls that may be place.  Windows 2000/2003  Servers require no additional software for monitoring.  Windows NT Server and all workstations will require remote control software to be purchased and installed on each computer.

Remote Monitoring and Service

This provides the same capabilities as Remote Network Management but with a significantly lower monthly fee.  Computer Technologies will monitor your servers and be "On Call" to connect to your system and resolve problems as needed.  All time spent working on your system is billed at our standard hourly rate for service.
